BOASTING a clutch of national awards and a range of bridal gowns and accessories so good that brides-to-be travel hundreds of miles to visit the shops, it’s easy to see why North Wales based, Wedding Belles is regarded as one of the UK’s best bridal boutiques.

The renowned store, which has branches in Llandudno and Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, has recently beaten off stiff competition from bridal shops throughout the UK to be shortlisted in two categories of the prestigious Bridal Buyer Awards 2008.

Managing director, Diane Roberts said: “To be a finalist in both the UK’s Best Bridal Retailer category and in the category for the Best Retail Website is absolutely fantastic. The finalists are chosen by brides so it’s a real honour to receive such recognition.”

Now in their eighth year, the national Bridal Buyer Awards are regarded as the Oscars of the bridal industry. Being shortlisted in the Best Bridal Retailer category puts Wedding Belles in the top six bridal shops throughout the UK, something which Diane describes as: “The icing on the cake during our tenth year in business.”

The winners will be chosen by industry experts and announced during a glamorous black tie gala on March 10.

However, success is no stranger to the eight-strong team, who, between 2001- 2006 have become regulars at the glittering ceremony, having won four other Bridal Buyer Awards, and nominated for a further two.

Established in 1997, the company is currently celebrating 10-years in business with a very special project, Diane explained: “To commemorate our tenth anniversary and to raise funds for Wales Air Ambulance, we’re offering one lucky couple the chance to win a wedding worth over £20,000!”

The closing date for entries is April 14, and the most deserving couple will be chosen by a panel of celebrity judges, including opera sensation Bryn Terfel and TV presenter Llinos Lee in June (full details available at the website www.winaweddingcompetition.co.uk ).

Browse the expansive rails in either Wedding Belles store and you’ll find an impressive array of contemporary and traditional bridal gowns by designers like Benjamin Roberts, Alfred Angelo, Maggie Sottero and many more.

Whilst those looking for a bridal gown on a budget or in a hurry, will also be spoilt for choice, as the boutique carries a wide range of ‘off-the-peg’ bridal, bridesmaid and flowergirl dresses - so whatever your budget, style or circumstances, you can find a dress that’s right for you.

Diane added: “We pride ourselves on pampering not pressuring brides-to-be. Shopping for your dream wedding dress should be a pleasurable experience, so all of our customers receive one-to-one appointments with one of our experienced, competent, knowledgeable and, above all, honest sales consultants."

With such a customer driven approach and commitment to quality, it’s easy to see why the company has developed an outstanding reputation and is one of only five bridal stores throughout Wales to be awarded membership of the Retail Bridalwear Association (RBA) - the gold standard for the industry.
