A fine old mess! May 7 2008 ON a Friday recently I had the pleasure to visit Holyhead on an eagerly awaited yearly mission. A new pair of shoes was my goal. It was a wild and windy day, the car park was empty and the streets nearly deserted. I parked tidily and carefully in this nearly empty car park and roared off down the town to purchase my new “tracks.” more

Fly-tipping trouble Feb 27 2008 I AM very glad to hear that Anglesey Council is getting to grips with fly-tippers. In 2007 I found a quantity of waste tipped near my home. I rummaged through it and found a person’s address. more

Rowdy youths at park Feb 20 2008 THE residents of Maes Madryn, Lôn Goch and Wesley Street, Amlwch are constantly being tormented by gangs of rowdy teenagers who frequent the nearby park area at Lôn Goch late on in the evenings. more

I AM writing to you with my concerns as a worried parent of two children who attend Ysgol Cae Top and are in the middle of the issues concerning the site for the new school at Brewery Fields and the discovery of a fungus. Feb 6 2008 I cannot express enough how much the new school is needed and the benefits it will bring to the children and the environment as the building has been designed for this purpose. more

Unhappy at criticism of our Oriel Môn Jan 23 2008 AS another native of Porth Amlwch, as I assume is John Sage Hughes, I cannot share his view of Oriel Môn and the disparaging references to that fine institution - admired by several visiting friends and relatives taken there as would many of my fellow travellers on post war cruise ships. more

Puzzling purchase Jan 16 2008 THE purchase of Graigwen on Bull Bay Road, Amlwch, for £300,00 last July by Anglesey County Council looks like they have bought a pig in a poke. more
