CHRISTMAS presents to buy, relatives you only hear from once a year, turkeys that are too big to fit in the microwave - it's no wonder the festive season makes some people grumpy. The continually fed-up guests from the depressingly successful TV show Grumpy Old Women will be taking to the stage of Liverpool's Royal Court Theatre on Tuesday, December 5, for some festive moaning that certainly won't be full of goodwill to all men. The show stars Annette Badland, Rhona Cameron and Jenny Eclair, who all have stares icy enough to freeze a garden of snowmen and will be doing their best to live up to the grumpy reputation they had on TV. The show is billed as being 'suitable for people of a certain age' and comes with the warning that 'middle-aged women might be spotted dancing', so make sure you take your bifocals. And don't forget your handbag when you leave. The perfect antidote to the festive season, the show is filled with stories more horrifying than a bucketful of Brussels sprouts, more outrageous than the sweater your aunt knitted for you and more hilarious than the Queen's Speech.
