VETERAN Canadian rocker Bryan Adams' takes to the road again with a UK tour in the spring which comes to the Manchester Evening News Arena on May 8. Adams' career was launched with the release of his self-titled debut album in February 1980 but it was his third release Cuts Like a Knife in January 1983 that proved to be his breakthrough, courtesy of the single Straight from the Heart. Since then, he has had a vast array of hits including Run To You, Somebody, Heaven, Summer of '69 and One Night Love Affair. He has duetted with the likes of Tina Turner on It's Only Love, Mel C on When You're Gone and Rod Stewart and Sting on All For One as well as opening the US side of the original Live Aid concert in 1985. Despite his rocker status, however, he is probably best known for the all-conquering ballad Everything I Do (I Do For You) from the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, which topped the chart for a record-breaking 16 weeks in the UK. * Tickets for his Manchester gig are available by ringing 0870 190 8000. |
