Aclub night which kicked off last Boxing Day is celebrating its first anniversary with an A-List DJ. Radio One's DJ Lottie, herself a Chester success story, will be headlining the first anniversary of Surgery at Citybar, a self styled underground house night. The highly rated DJ appeared on Channel 4's Faking It where she mentored a classical musician trying to convince as a DJ. She has also presented MTV shows and been listed in the top 50 turntable artists by DJ magazine. Now Ian Davies, 32, who set up Surgery with Dave King, 31, is looking forward to her return. He said: 'DJ Lottie contacted us and said she was interested in coming back to Chester for nostalgic reasons and we were just made up by that. 'We've tried to do something you normally have to travel to Manchester or Liverpool to hear and she's the right sort of act for the night. 'It's not often you see a big name DJ playing in Chester so we're just made up about it.' DJ Lottie, also known as Charlotte Horne from Mollington, will hold court in the basement while Surgery favourites The Nutopians will be playing a more varied set at the bar. Next year Surgery is looking at linking up with Sankeys Soap from Manchester, and bringing in more top DJs such as Tristan Da Cunha from Leeds. Tickets for the Boxing Day bash sold out within an hour, but for those without tickets, there will be free en-trance to the bar. |
