KATHERINE Jenkins will be releasing her new album, Living a Dream, on Monday. On a recent visit to the area Katherine spoke to Your Time about what she has been up to this year. Notably, Katherine performed with Bryn Terfel and Aled Jones at this year's Faenol Festival. She said: "I had a brilliant time. It was such an amazing concert. The audience was fantastic and I got to fulfil one of my dreams to duet with Bryn." The new album will include tracks she performed at the festival and will also feature a very special version of I Will Always Love You, entitled Ti Amero Per Sempre. Katherine is the only person to be given permission by Dolly Parton to sing the song in a foreign language. She continued: "I have always loved the Whitney and Dolly Parton version but I thought it would be good to give it a classical touch. "I had it translated into Italian and my record company approached Dolly. Their first answer was 'Don't count your chickens'. I recorded it and she loved the version and I am the first person in the world to sing it in a foreign language. "It is such an honour. I can't believe she's heard my song!" It has been a busy year for Katherine what with singing at the VE Day celebration in Trafalgar Square, appearing in both Berlin and London for the Live8 concerts, being invited to Chequers by Cherie Blair to sing on behalf of a breast cancer charity, and just recently she went to tea with the Queen. In November, Katherine will join Bryn Terfel once again to perform in the Royal Variety Performance at the Millennium Centre, Cardiff. The new album includes such favourites as Nessun Dorma and Music of the Night. |
