The Buzz Club is the newest edition to the Llandudno club scene. It caters for absolutely everyone and it entertains wonderfully. It started off as the best place to go if you were over 25. It had top quality classic tunes and a mellow atmosphere - but now a change of direction has produced the BUZZ. The management converted the top floor into a new fast and happening nightclub, open from Wednesdays through to Saturdays. It caters for 18s-plus with a generous amount of musical variety and high levels of alcohol consumption. Wednesdays tend to be lent out to groups and DJs who always seem to be the cream of the crop. Anything from Indie bands to hard core DJs can be on the agenda. This is being advertised as 'WILD' but only seems to have an audience of particular people - this is a shame because nights like this could reach out to everyone. One Thursday of every month there is a gay night. A Latin DJ called 'Brasilica' also does a set once a month which is extremely entertaining (if you know what I mean). Friday and Saturday nights are a mad night to go - they're loads of fun with excellent tunes to get your feet moving. The DJ Tim Lyde has been pumping out the anthems for yonks now and worked in the old night club Annabelles before it closed. The Buzz Club has two levels, the ground floor with dancing area and the small but cute balcony. The dance floor is tichy and I found myself bumping in to someone every time I moved. I must admit though, other than the dingy dance floor and the not very flattering mirrors in the toilets, this club is one of the best I've been to in a while. It still has a way to go before it attracts a larger audience but give it time and it will. The club is actually based within the Washington venue, which is out of the centre of Llandudno and just up the road from the Broadway Boulevard. The Buzz Club has the same rules as everywhere else, no trainers and definitely no sports gear!! These rules are clear at the door and if you have any queries then don't hesitate to ask the scary looking bulldog bouncers on the door. Entrance costs two quid on the door and that entitles you to move between the club and the pub downstairs. This club is very good and extremely modern - which creates a good atmosphere. I actually find that no matter what kind of person you are there is a gig that will suit you and your friends. Give this one a go, I think you'll like it. |
