FOR two nights only, Chester Gateway's last ever professional performance will give adults the chance to watch the production of the much-loved story The Wizard of Oz in a kids' free zone on January 5 and 12. The 1939 classic film has recently been released in cinemas nationwide but here's your chance to celebrate the much-loved Judy Garland watching the magical story brought to life on Chester Gateway's stage in an adult only environment. Chester Gateway's stage production of The Wizard of Oz features all the classic songs such as Over the Rainbow, Yellow Brick Road and We're off to see the wizard. The show incorporates different media, with an emphasis on video, projection and lighting, giving the production an abstract and magical feel to it. There is also a 1930s art deco theme, visual through the costumes and set. Working alongside the actors are two stars in the making - 13 year old Danielle Rayner from Hartford and 12 year old Bethany Staton from Broughton - who share the role of Dorothy. * Tickets for the adults only performances of The Wizard of Oz are available from the box office on 01244 340392. |
