Hall’s sporting facelift

Oct 17 2008

by Lois York, Flintshire Chronicle

THE sports hall at Deeside College has undergone a makeover.

The surface of the multi-sports hall has been relayed with a specialist system called Herculan SR.

The unique flooring system is created by laying rolls of a rubber underlay, which is then coated in a special polyurethane resin and left to cure.

Once the coating is dry, it leaves a high quality resilient surface offering improved grip and shock absorption.

In addition to Deeside College students and staff, many clubs in the use the hall as a training base and it is also available for the general public to hire.

Deeside College partnerships manager – external affairs, Paul Hinchliffe, said: “We are delighted with the new flooring system and believe it is one of the best playing surfaces in North Wales.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the clubs who regularly use the hall for their patience and hope they agree the wait has been worth it.”

Anyone wishing to hire the facility is encouraged to contact Sports@Deeside on 01244 834546.
