Barry said: “The CCTV has been very successful. It has helped us to catch criminals and also makes residents feel more confident.”
They were nominated for the Working in Partnership award by Holywell community beat manager PC Cath McHarrie.
Barry and Dave often put money toward projects when the Neighbourhood Watch budget does not stretch far enough and spend evenings and weekends helping those who have been affected by crime.
They worked with the police to set up the graffiti board scheme, which saw three boards placed at different locations around Holywell for youths to show off their art skills.
Barry said: “There has been a decrease in graffiti since the boards went up.
“When I was designing them I looked up all sorts of websites and hardly anywhere else had mobile boards.”
