RICHIE Jamieson lifted the Ron Dawson Trophy after beating Jim Dymond, of Division A champions Hoole Alex, 21-18 in the final of the Chester & District League Merit at Connah’s Quay BC on Sunday. Jamieson, who bowls for Airbus in Division A, swept aside Broughton & Bretton B’s Steve Ellson 21-7 in the last four, with Dymond overcoming Cherry Grove’s John Nelson 21-16. Hawkesbury duo Sue Tidman and Paul Roberts retained their Nercwys Mixed Pairs title as they proved too strong for Sychdyn’s Linda and Carl Curzon 21-8 in the decider. They had beaten another Sychdyn twosome, Rachel Hawker and Gareth Davies, in the semi-finals, with the Curzons knocking out Pauline Jackson and Derek Forrester. |
