HALKYN United are the new leaders of the Under 16s Division after they produced a second-half super-show to win 5-1 at Aston Park Rangers on Saturday. Sam Moxley, Daniel Hughes, James Clark and Ross Sumner (2) shared the strikes for Halkyn, who were being held at the break by Stewart Clarke’s first-half effort for Aston. Alex Millington fired a treble and Tom Gittens and Ieuan Hewitt singles as Flint Town United Youth sent Mynydd Isa Youth packing 5-0. Mostyn Dragons and Wepre Scorpions made it through to the second round of the NWCFA U16s Cup. Jake Burke earned Mostyn a 1-0 home victory over Mochdre while Wepre, through Sam Genders and Jamie Wynne (2), sneaked it 3-2 at home to Llandudno Junction. Holywell Town Juniors went down 7-0 at home to Penrhosgarnedd while Connah’s Quay Tigers suffered spot-kick heartache at home to Cae Glyn, who won 6-5 on penalties after the first-round tie ended 1-1. Sean Williams was on target for the Tigers. Mostyn Dragons are the early Youth Division pacesetters after their 3-2 home triumph over Prestatyn Athletic on Saturday. Jake Hughes, Jake Parkes and Tom Carney did the damage for the Dragons, with Luke Elden (2) taking Prestatyn close. Buckley Town Youth are hot on Mostyn’s heels in second after Asa Hamilton saw them to a 1-0 victory at Mynydd Isa Youth. |
