GAP Connah’s Quay swept into the second round on Sunday with a stunning 4-1 victory over Rhyl at the Deeside Stadium. Led by skipper and first-team regular Danny Pinch, whose contribution went far beyond his two goals, Nomads were better than their visitors in all areas of the pitch. Ian Nicholls, a driving force from midfield along with Tom Lloyd and Bohan Dixon, added to Pinch’s double before pacy Kalu Ochengwa completed the home side’s tally in the second half. Flint Town United and Buckley Town joined their neighbours in the last 32 after they won their first-round clashes. Buckley, thanks to Nathan Bellis, Chris Knowles, Tom Pennington and Arron Griffiths, came from two goals down to win 4-2 at home to Brickfield, while Lewis Lund was Flint’s extra-time hero in their 2-1 triumph at Airbus UK Broughton, whose opener was cancelled out by Dylan Evans.
