ALL Llandudno Junction's thoughts this week are with John Paul Coleville who suffered an horrific injury in last weekend's battling performance against Rhyl Reserves. He had to undergo surgery on Sunday after having his tibia and fibula shattered in a tackle five minutes before half-time. "We all hope John Paul makes a full and speedy recover, but it was a terrible injury," reported manager Gary John Jones after visiting the player in hospital on Monday night. "It was a dreadful challenge and I feel very angry about it and let down by the officials who took no action. The sad thing is that John Paul was having his best game of the season. Overall I thought we did well and deserved to get something out of the game, but it was a horrible day for us with injuries." "As well as Coleville, Junction lost Dan Williams with a recurring knee injury and he also now faces an operation and a lengthy lay-off." The squad, however, has been strengthened with the signings of experienced goalkeeper Rob Jones and centre defender Carl Stephenson, who had an excellent debut last Saturday. Rhyl eventually won 3-2 with two goals from Michel Roose and one by Mitchell Booth, but Junction ran them close with goals from Nathan Jones and Gary John Jones, and were pressing hard for an equaliser at the end. GLAN CONWY suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Caerwys to drop out of the top six. The were behind after only two minutes and goals from Ian Ferguson, Wayne Edwards and Dewi Jones saw Caerwys go 3-0 up before Alex Game got a late consolation goal for Paul Morony's team.
