SEALAND Rovers have quashed rumours they are about to fold. The club have struggled for players this season and had to cancel Saturday's Barritt Cup clash with Nantlle Vale. However, Sealand secretary Debbie Ashbrook contacted the Chronicle to ensure supporters they are not about to call it quits. She revealed Rob Ashbrook has taken over as manager and said tomorrow's match at home to fellow strugglers Conwy will go ahead (2pm). Elsewhere tomorrow, rapidly improving Halkyn United host Rhydymwyn (2pm), who will be looking to put Saturday's shock Barritt Cup defeat to lower-league Bro Cernyw behind them. Mike Roberts scored Rhydymwyn's goal in the 2-1 home loss. Holywell Town also crashed out at the second-round stage, as they fell 6-4 at home to Llandudno Junction. Les Clarkson (2), Darren Peters and Danny Roberts scored for Holywell, who travel to higher-league Bodedern tomorrow for a NWCFA Cup first-round tie (2pm). Caerwys remain rooted to the bottom after losing 2-1 at home to Bethesda on Saturday, Gareth Henley with the consolation. Tomorrow, Caerwys travel to Llanrwst (2pm). ..SUPL: |
