Chester Visitor Centre provides a variety of useful services and interesting exhibits. Here you can buy tickets for local events and get assistance with booking accommodation.

Browse the Victorian shops in the reconstructed cobbled street with smells and sounds that make the experience all the more authentic.

You can also trace your surname in the Hall of Names and watch a video on the history of Chester on the lecture theatre.

Open Monday to Saturday 9am-6.30pm (Nov-Apr closes 5.30pm) Sunday 10am-5pm (Nov-Apr closes 4pm). Vicars Lane, Telephone 01244 402111.

Chester Heritage Centre: Situated in St. Michael's Church on Bridge Street Row, the Heritage Centre introduces visitors to the history of Chester and explains how the development of the city has been influenced by different cultures.
Open Saturdays 11am-5pm and Sundays 12am-5pm. Telephone 01244 402008.
