A TRIBUTE has been paid to the work of the Welsh Wildlife Trusts in the National Assembly. The praise came from Glyn Davies, Welsh Conservative AM for Mid and West Wales who supported the work of Welsh Wildlife Trusts during a plenary debate on the voluntary sector. "A huge and growing problem in Britain is the `gap of under-standing' between town and country which is growing ever wider," said Mr Davies. "As a life-long country-lover I have become increasingly worried about the `chocolate box' image that urban-based people have of country life. Wildlife Trusts across Wales are doing a fantastic job in encouraging people to learn more about the countryside and are recognising the need for a successful rural economy as a necessary background for successful biodiversity." |
