There's plenty organised for children, in terms of activities, a play area and education room. There's a nice café and disabled access to most areas, including the waterwheel viewing platform. You can easily spend a whole day based in this small corner of Snowdonia. Get off the bus here or park your car for £1 and, as well as visiting the slate museum, you've got the choice of boat trips on Llyn Padarn, a ride on the Llanberis Lake Railway, several waymarked walks in the Padarn Country Park, also taking in heritage sites, and the quarry hospital, which is compelling in a macabre sort of way.
