PLANS for a new GP surgery and pharmacy in Amlwch will be unveiled at a public meeting on Wednesday, August 8. Patients of the Amlwch surgery and local stakeholders are invited to view plans for a modern purpose-built surgery on land near the primary school in the town. The move is being planned as doctors felt their existing surgery was unable to meet the current demand for health care. Dr Harry Pritchard said: “The development of a new GP surgery and pharmacy fits in the Anglesey Local Health Board’s Estates Strategy, and this is an opportunity to develop a modern health centre, fit for purpose and for providing health care in the 21st century.” Dr JP Owen added: “This is a very exciting development with superb facilities for the patients and staff and will incorporate many services for the local community under one roof.” Practice manager Dilys Roberts said: “Our patients are urged to come along to this event, and no matter how unimportant or trivial they might consider their views to be, they will be valuable to us in ensuring that all points of view are taken into account and fed into the final plans for this new and exciting development.” The doctors and staff from the surgery, representatives from the developers and architects and an officer of Anglesey Local Health board will be in attendance at the event to talk through the proposals, and to listen to what patients have to say. Forms will also be available on the day, for those who wish to provide feedback anonymously and to capture feedback on paper. The public meeting will take place between noon to 4pm at the Court Room, Council Offices, Amlwch. |
