A NEW free travel guide for the Lln Peninsula has been launched. It provides easy-to-read bus and train timetables as well as information on taxis, community transport, walking and cycling on the peninsula. The guide is intended for both locals and tourists to raise awareness of different modes of transport, and leaving the car at home. Gerwyn Jones, on behalf of the Cambrian Railways Partnership, who coordinated the project, said that other ways of travelling are often cheaper, healthier and better for the environment than using the car for everything from travelling to work, going shopping or leisure trips. He said: “It is envisaged that the Lln Travel Guide will help those who want to get out of their cars to do so and increase usage of these sustainable ways of travelling.” Copies of the guide have been delivered to several outlets in Lln, including shops, post offices, pubs and tourist information centres. The guide has been funded by the Lln Sustainable Development Fund, Gwynedd Council, Pwllheli Town Council and the Cambrian Railways Partnership. |
