A FARMING union wants the decision over hunting foxes with dogs to be made by the Assembly. The Countryside Alliance is seeking an injunction which could delay the introduction of the ban next month. The government will not oppose such an injunction. NFU Cymru president Peredur Hughes claimed that dogs were necessary to flush out foxes on Welsh terrain. He added: "The Hunting Act further confirms NFU Cymru's view that now is the time for the Assembly to show it is willing to protect sheep and poultry farming and wildlife in Wales from pests, particularly foxes." |
