Musicians share their love of music

Feb 16 2007

Flintshire Chronicle, Llandudno

MOLD shoppers were serenaded on Valentine's Day by an award-winning arts and music festival group.

Ensemble Cymru, the resident music group at Gwyl Cilcain, brought 'inspiring' music to the town.

The two-day tour saw the musicians perform chamber music at Clays, the Daniel Owen Centre, Ysgol Glanrafon, Mold Post Office, HSBC, Absolute Cutters and Tesco.

Gwyl Cilcain chairman David Martin said: 'The aim of our short tour was to bring a taste of the festival to a wider audience.

'We are eager to invite neighbouring towns and villages to join in the activities to extend the area of benefit of the festival. We are also looking into the possibility of a new brand that will better reflect the wider area which the festival could cover in the future.'

Bev Wynne of Clays said: 'Staff and customers thoroughly enjoyed a taste of Gwyl Cilcain.

'We were pleased to offer the musicians a chance to play at the shop and their inspiring music really raised the spirits of staff and customers on a bleak winter's day.' nFor further information on Gwyl Cilcain event, call Nia at Moment-wm on 01352 754212.
