THE people of North Wales last night delivered an emphatic message to Chief Constable Richard Brunstrom. More than 4,500 Daily Post read-ers bombarded our voteline - and three in four said the outspoken police chief was NOT doing a good job. Mr Brunstrom last night said he acknowledged the results of the poll and would consider it in reviewing the force's policies. The phone poll is the latest blow to the under-fire police chief, who has been attacked for an alleged obsessive crackdown on speeding motorists, calls to legalise drugs, and trendy policing methods. But North Wales Police Authority last night backed the Chief Constable, claiming his controversial anti-speeding campaign had cut accident rates. |
