WALES-BASED BNP leader Nick Griffin says he is heading for a Euro seat. He believes he can become the far-right party's first MEP - by gaining less than a tenth of the vote.
It has provoked outrage from anti-racism groups and union leaders, who fear victory could be within Mr Griffin's grasp in a climate of political apathy and low election turn-outs.
They have vowed to stop him by urging ethnic minorities to use their votes.
But Mr Griffin said last night: "I am confident that I can be elected."
