COMPUTER virus spreader, Simon Vallor, has told of his shock at finding out he had infected 27,000 terminals in 42 countries. Vallor, 22, told the Daily Post it was an accident - and admitted he is frightened of going to jail.
He said he "dreads to think" what his late mother Maureen would make of his crimes which were investigated by the FBI and Scotland Yard.
But he denied any Satanic links even though his personal website is called devilwithin.com.
Last month Vallor, of Llandudno, admitted spreading the viruses on e-mails, at Bow Street Magistrates in London.
As soon as the e-mails were opened they immediately infected the complete address list of each user. Vallor faces up to five years' imprisonment when he appears at Southwark Crown Court on Tuesday for sentencing.
On Thursday, he opened his heart about his offences which dealt a massive blow to computer systems across the globe.
He lives in a semi-detached house in Fairways with his father Bill and brother Adam. His sister Lisa, 25, is a post-graduate student in Bath.
Vallor is adamant he did not know how bad his three viruses - GoKar, Admirer and Redesi - would be for 27,000 terminals worldwide.
He declared: "I didn't have a clue it would do that, go on and spread as it did."
"Amazing's probably the wrong word. Daunting. It is quite a shock that it spread as it did. I didn't want it to spread. I wrote it but I didn't send it out thinking 'Let's infect 27,000 computers or 42 countries. If it spread to 20 computers, even now I would be thinking why did I do it?
"But when you compare it to Love Letter or Nimda (other viruses) it was trivial. But it did spread unfortunately and that's why I'm talking to you now. I don't think the United States was one of the bigger ones actually. I think it went to the United Kingdom and probably Belgium or Denmark.
