A PLEASURE visit to an award winning attraction turned into a nightmare for a family man who claims his hand was savaged by a fish.
The painful memories of that day out to Anglesey Sea Zoo are still fresh in his mind nearly three years on for fish farmer Jeffrey Stevenson.
Mr Stevenson dipped his hand into a pool to stroke the marine wildlife. But he claims a huge monkfish rocketed towards his hand clamping its mouth around it, leaving it deeply scarred .
Now the fish farmer has just undergone a medical to assess the injuries which will be passed on to Manchester-based solicitors Leech and Co. who are making a claim on his behalf
He hopes that within two months he will be compensated by the zoo and he can draw a line under the traumatic event.
But Anglesey Sea Zoo say they have not admitted liability and are waiting for medical evidence from Mr Stevenson's solicitors before they decide a course of action.
Mr Stevenson visited his doctors last Friday for an examination.
He told the Daily Post: "I visited the Sea Zoo with my family. We were living in Lancashire at the time and were looking for somewhere to live on the island. We visited the Sea Zoo for a break after looking for property all day.
"Signs near the pool invited visitors to touch the fish. I was excited to see some ray fish in the pool and put my right hand in the water and a monkfish bit me.
