One of the main manned look-out locations will be at Point Lynas on Anglesey's east coast. "We will have people there and anybody can turn up on the day. All they will need is a good pair of binoculars. They could be in for a tremendous experience. We will have local whale-watchers helping coordinate the event and can supply details of approved boat trip operators." Another ideal spot could be South Stack, the RSPB reserve near Holyhead. Clare added: "We are hoping for a record number of sightings this year as a large numbers of whales and dolphins have been spotted in the last few weeks. "They include a pod of 10 bottlenose dolphins seen between Puffin Island and Red Wharf Bay on July 10." * Details about the North Wales operation are available from Nia Jones at nia@saveourseas.co.uk. |
