The 76-year-old, who lives in Stirling, Scotland, said: "It is a tremendous honour." Other notables who were honoured included National Eisteddfod director Elfed Roberts, consultant physician Olwen Williams OBE and environment minister Carwyn Jones AM. University vice chancellor Prof Merfyn Jones said: "We are pleased to award honorary fellowships to individuals who have made a distinguished contribution in their chosen fields, and who have a strong link with the university or with Wales. "An honorary fellowship is the highest honour that we can bestow, and we are delighted to be able to welcome 12 new fellows this year." Beach Boys member Bruce Johnston was also at the university yesterday to see his son Ozzie receive a PhD in electro-acoustic composition.
