Last week Ruth revealed she can only see her seriously-ill son for an hour a day at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. She has been banned from his hospital bedside, except for the daily 60 minutes allowed by health bosses. The bedside curfew is the latest episode in a dispute between Ruth and the hospital over the care of Luke. The hospital has claimed her behaviour had forced it into the ban. But she will be allowed to stay with Luke 24 hours a day while he is treated at Alder Hey. Ruth said: "Problems haven't emerged there, the problems have been with Ysbyty Gwynedd. "Basically, it's been absolute hell being away from Luke. It's been an absolute nightmare." Luke is expected to return to Ysbyty Gwynedd at the end of the week, where he will remain for the coming months. The family hopes an American surgeon may operate to repair Luke's heart. An account has been opened for an appeal fund. |
