TOP NOTE FOR NEXT YEAR MORE than 130 children yesterday gave a musical taste of what lies in wait at next year's Urdd Eisteddfod at the United Counties showground on the outskirts of Carmarthen. Youngsters extended a warm welcome to Eisteddfodwyr to the area next May. A colourful ceremony of song and dance which traced the history of Carmarthenshire in just 10 minutes. Presenter Carys Edwards said: "It makes reference to the leaves of Carmarthen's oak tree, spinning in the woollen mills, Lord Rhys' soldiers,, colliers, rugby and the Scarlets, the town mart and Menyw Fach Cydweli." |
