Mr Roberts said it had been a massive shock for the businesses when they were told that Kwik Save would be shutting. "The news came totally out of the blue. I don't think anyone had been expecting something quite like this to happen," he said. He added that the shops which are continuing to trade had invested a lot of money in their businesses over the years and had put in a great deal of hard work. "We want to serve the people of Denbigh and hope that they will remain with us, keeping custom within the community rather than going elsewhere. "Having a good range of smaller shops helps to give a town its special character." |
