They concentrated their search around Llanfair TH but there were no further sightings. At 5.30am on Monday Lee decided to go to his workshop at Marli, in the countryside between Abergele and St Asaph. "I couldn't believe it when Remi came out from underneath a trailer. She was very excited and jumped all over us," he said. "We thought she might be missing for weeks and that if she ever turned up she would be in a terrible state, muddy and ragged, but she was fine," he said. After treating Remi, who is micro-chipped and wears a collar with a name tag, to a piece of chicken he took the dog to a vet for a check-up and received the all-clear. She didn't even have sore pads. Remi's exact route is unclear but if she did go via Groes and Llanfair TH she would have covered at least 30 miles. "I knew she was very fit, but to do that distance in four days is amazing. It's a pity she can't talk," said Lee. "I'm so pleased to have her back, and am grateful to DogLost.co.uk and to all the other people who helped us." Anne Owen, who runs the North Clwyd Animal Rescue Centre in Tre-logan, said: "Dogs do have an incredible homing instinct, but for a little dog like a Jack Russell to cover such a distance in only four days is amazing." |
