INVESTIGATIONS into how a teenager was electrocuted by more than 11,000 volts in a tragic building site accident were continuing last night.

Nineteen-year-old Miall Gwyn Roberts died in the accident at Bala Enterprise park.

Police and Health and Safety Executive officials are investigating if a concrete lorry's hydraulic arm touched an overhead electric wire.

Mr Roberts of Dolhendre Isa, Llanuwchllyn, near Bala, was working for EW Jones plant hire of Frongoch, Bala when the accident happened on Friday afternoon.

A HSE spokeswoman said: " Our inspectors have been on the site and the HSE is still investigating."

The Welsh Development Agency is upgrading the site for a new unit, to be used by Gwynedd Confectionary.

A WDA spokesman said: "The WDA has contracted the construction of a 1,000sq ft unit at the Bala Enterprise Park as part of the expansion of a local business.

"The principal contractor for the development is R L Davies who has responsibility for activities on the site during the construction process.

"We will provide every support we can to help the Health and Safety Executive with their investigation into this tragic accident and our sympathies go to the family of the deceased man."
