THE mum of baby Luke Winston-Jones has revealed she can only see her seriously-ill son for an hour a day.
She is banned from his hospital bedside, except for the 60 minutes allowed by health bosses.
And Ruth Winston-Jones can only ring Bangor's Ysbyty Gwynedd to check on Luke, who is still fighting for his life, at set times.
The bedside curfew is the latest episode in a dispute between Mrs Winston-Jones and the hospital over the care of the eight-month-old, born with three holes in his heart.
Last night, the hospital claimed her behaviour had forced it into the ban.
Until Luke was six months old Mrs Winston-Jones, from Holyhead, spent most of her time in the hospital. In June she was ordered to restrict visits to two or three hours a day. That was later cut to just an hour an day.
Her sister says Mrs Winston-Jones is simply being assertive. Jacqui Kirkwood from Cheshire said the family was very upset at the hospital's attitude towards their efforts to help Luke.
"Ruth's main concern is to do what is best for her child and the nurses have actually trained her in what to do for him. Yet when she tries to do it they stop her," said Mrs Kirkwood.
