Bun roamin'

Oct 28 2005

By David Greenwood, Daily Post

Scoot may be too disabled to move around, but he has his own little bunny armchair and an online fan club

A COUPLE have turned their North Wales semi into a rest home for abandoned and unwanted bunnies.

Jay and Tom Evans even set up their own website to keep other rabbit lovers up to date with the residents.

They readily admit "the hairy mob" have taken over their lives and their Gronant home.

Most of the bunnies were abandoned while others - such as Scoot - are badly disabled..

Otherwise known as The Legend, Scoot has his own website fan club.

"Although he can't move around he has had a wonderful life with us," said 47-year-old Jay.

"He is an amazing character and loves watching TV and listening to classical music. His favourite film is Jurassic Park.

"Since we started we have looked after 100 rabbits.

" At the moment we have 22 and are expecting three new arrivals at the weekend - two from Norwich," said Jay..

"We started with a couple of sheds put together in the garden but now most are kept in the house in large crates, the type people keep dogs in.

"They are really very comfortable and we have got them all over the house.

"Whenever possible we provide a home for unwanted or very disabled rabbits. We just want to give them a chance and work closely with local vets."
