TWO people were airlifted to hospital after their car plunged down a bank during a weekend motor rally in North Wales. Driver Nicola Parker, 35, from New-bury, and co-driver Michael Hughes, 25, from Treuddyn, near Mold, were taking part in the Cambrian Rally. Both were trapped in the wreckage of their Subaru Impreza car and were cut free by firefighters. Ms Parker was reported to have suffered back and head injuries while Mr Hughes, a high school geography teacher in Mold, suffered facial and chest injuries. Last night both were described as being in a "comfortable" condition in hospital. Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening. An eye-witness said the accident happened on a fast left-hand bend on a forest stage at Cynwyd, near Corwen. |
