FUND-RAISING has already started in Flintshire for the 2007 National Eisteddfod - despite no announcement on a venue for the event. Eisteddfod bosses are expected to reveal the location of the 2007 festival at the end of January - with Flintshire favourite and Liverpool, which had mounted a bid, ruled out. Eisteddfod supporters have already begun raising cash in Flintshire, with a concert held at Capel Bethesda, Mold, last Thursday raising £500. Individuals and businesses across Flintshire have also promised donations to help meet the cost of staging the nine-day event. Eisteddfod bosses are understood to have surveyed two possible sites in Flintshire - both of which are considered suitable. One of the sites is believed to be near Mold. The National Eisteddfod was last held in the town in 1991. Talks have also taken place between eisteddfod officials and representatives of Flintshire County Council. |
