MEMBERS of North Wales Animal Rights held a demonstration in Rhyl at the weekend as part of a worldwide protest against the meat industry. The group chose the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA) Holocaust On Your Plate campaign to put across their belief that meat is murder. PETA's campaign likens the treatment of the Jews and other Nazi victims during the Second World War to the mass slaughter used on animals to serve the meat industry. "We want people to realise violence begins at break-fast," said the NWAR spokeswoman. "All in all it was a good two hours campaigning and we raised over £40 for PETA." |
