A MULTI-million pound Hollywood movie shot in North Wales is to be released in UK cinemas within weeks, bringing a tourist boost. The Demi Moore movie Half Light is likely to make Anglesey an international star. The film is released on DVD to American audiences tomorrow, and is likely to hit British film screens in March. It was filmed on Anglesey's Llanddwyn Island and Porth Dinllaen on the Ll£n peninsula, plus bird's-eye views of Llanberis, although the script puts the action in Scotland. Bangor diver Mark Roberts, 57, was employed as a safety diver on the project while Demi Moore filmed scenes in a rowing boat. After seeing the pre-final edited version he said: "Wales comes out tops. Millions more pounds are likely to come to North Wales when other international film directors view this epic. "The aerial filming, the seascapes, the panorama of mountains and scenery is astounding. I can't wait to watch it on the big screen. "There isn't anything the PR or advertising photographers of the Wales Tourist Board could do to match the Half Light director's capturing of North Wales and its beauty." Thousands of pounds were injected into the local hotels, restaurants and caterers during filming of the 110-minute long paranormal drama over three months in 2004. It tells the story of novelist Rachel Carlson - played by Moore, whose five-year-old son Thomas (Beans El-Balawi) drowns in a river beside their London home. |
