LABOUR yesterday resisted opposition in the Assembly to its proposals for further devolution. Opposition AMs tabled 13 amendments listing objections to the Government of Wales Bill but failed to secure enough votes to defeat the minority administration. First minister Rhodri Morgan said political parties could draw up manifestos for the 2007 Assembly elections knowing enhanced law making powers would allow "more meat on the bone". |
