MORE than 3,000 daffodils will be handed out in Moscow today to celebrate St David's Day. The national flower will be given to taxi drivers along with cards bearing information about Wales. It is part of the Assembly government's "Wales World Nation" campaign launched in 2001 to promote Wales internationally. Full-scale promotions will be staged from New York to Hong Kong and in British Embassies and Consulates worldwide. The New York Wales Week is billed as a celebration of the best of the country's arts, culture, food and drink, poetry and literature. Culture minister Alun Pugh will be in New York from March 2-4 to see the Empire State Building lit up. A showcase of Wales held in Hong Kong will be visited by first minister Rhodri Morgan. |
