SHOPPERS were urged to "use us or lose us" by a group of Denbigh traders determined to continue serving their community despite a massive economic body-blow. The shopkeepers run businesses based at Denbigh Kwik Save building and are independent of the supermarket. Although Kwik Save is closing down, the small traders have decided to carry on and are hoping the public will show their support. Chris Roberts, manager of the Diskos discount food and household goods store, said it was vital townsfolk give the remaining shops their custom. "Losing Kwik Save is a big setback in attracting shoppers here, but there are a group of us who are continuing to trade. "The others are Cronin's the news-agent and stationers, Crumbs bakery and cafe, Gill hairdressers and Pets First for pet food and accessories," said Mr Roberts. "Unfortunately, we have been having a lot of people asking if we are closing down the same as the supermarket, the answer is very definitely no. |
