AN OWL enthusiast is staging an Easter weekend display to raise money for T£ Gobaith Hope House. Peter Clark will be joined by at least four of his owls for the event at the Afonwen Craft and Antique centre, near Mold. Members of the public can have their picture taken with the barn owl, Lapland great grey owl, little owl and South African white faced owl. A recognised expert in his field, and a licensed breeder, Peter boasts a collection of more than 50 owls, and has produced two CD Roms over the past few years. The Monshin family who own the craft centre, are donating a hand-made carved walking stick, a fleece jacket and a stainless steel flask to be raffled during the fundraising weekend. Peter will also be joined by his pet rat snake, a corn snake and a 4ft long royal python. Craft centre manager Robert Monshin said: "This is a wonderful opportunity to get much closer to these creatures than you would even if you visited a zoo. "And it is also a great opportunity to help such a worthy cause as Hope House Children's Hospices." Peter's display of owls and snakes is open from 9.30am to 6pm each day. Admission is free. |
