 MOTORISTS across North Wales spent a massive £3m on petrol over the bank holiday weekend, the Daily Post can reveal. The shocking total is the largest amount ever spent on fuel by people in the region, as petrol costs hit an all-time high. Wales has the most expensive fuel in the UK, with Welsh drivers spending £14,769,000 on fuel over the three-day Bank Holiday, according to AA statistics. And the 625,000 people who live in North Wales spent £3.13m. By last Friday, the new average figure across Britain was 96.26p per litre. AA spokesman Luke Bosdet said the figure in Wales was around "a halfpenny" above that figure..
