My mohican bet cost me my job

May 18 2006

Jason Brooks

A BET with a mate not only lost Jason Brooks his hair - but his job as well..

The Llangefni petrol station attendant shaved his hair into a mohican as a forfeit. But the 40-year-old's new hairdo did not go down well with his boss.

Batchelor Jason, who cares part-time for his disabled mum in the village of Llanddaniel, was given his marching orders last week.

He had been employed there as a general maintenance worker since last November. He said: "It was a bit silly and I don't want to go into it. The deal was if I lost I would shave the hair on my head into a mohican style and have a waxing.

"I lost. And as a man of my word I went through with it. I just can't believe I have had the sack," said Jason, who also worked in agriculture and the building trade.

"As far as I am concerned, the cut is the mildest I could have had, and to be honest, most of the people I worked with said it suited me," he added..

"After the head shave I had been at work for about a week when the boss came up to me and said he didn't like my hairstyle."
