IT'S a dog's life for Rolo the sheep - and she's loving every minute of it. Ever since North Wales farmer Emlyn Roberts saved her from death as a lamb, he has raised the Welsh cross at home with his sheepdogs. And she's developed some distinctly doggy habits. Named Rolo - because of her liking for the chocolate-coated caramel sweets - she enjoys being taken for a walk on the lead and watching TV with her master. In a twist on the popular film Babe, she has even started herding with her sheepdog friends, although so far she's only been let loose on ducks. Rolo was rescued from a farm near Emlyn's old home in Penisarwaun, near Caernarfon, a year ago. Emlyn, now of Pentir, near Bangor, said last night: "Everyone thought the lamb had died but I looked and was sure she hadn't. "I knew there was still some breath left in her so I suggested taking her home and looking after her. She slowly came back and started drinking from a dish and since then she hasn't stopped. "I wasn't sure how the other dogs would take to having her around but they don't seem to be bothered at all." |
