A GIANT swan-shaped pedalo found floating in a busy shipping lane may have travelled all the way from the Bristol Channel. The 6ft-high fibreglass beast was rescued 25 miles off Holyhead on Friday after being spotted by a group of yachting students. And last night it emerged the bird may have made a long migration from the Mumbles area of south Wales. Coastguards at the seaside town near the Gower peninsula picked up an almost-identical swan pedalo in the last two weeks. The giant bird was spotted on the Liverpool to Dublin ferry route with nobody on board at around 8.30am on Friday. Holyhead's inshore lifeboat was dispatched to bring the pedalo back to shore as it posed a danger to ships. |
