A LOCAL authority is to conduct a review of its formula for school funding following a consultant’s report. A working group will develop proposals aimed at informing Denbighshire’s budget process next year. The move comes as part of an action plan formed after consultants PricewaterhouseCoopers released a report into the county’s education system. A number of meetings to discuss the formula have been planned before the end of the summer term with resulting proposals developed. Recommendations will be reported to the schools’ budget forum for consultation and final agreement. The process will seek to ensure the revised formula is tailored to fit the needs of all primary and secondary schools in Denbighshire, and improve understanding of how funds are distributed to schools. |
