YOUNGSTERS at three schools across the Vale used their special powers to win a competition. As part of the Read A Million Words initiative, children at schools throughout the county were asked to write a short paragraph describing their idea of a superhero. Alys Brywn, of Ysgol Twm o’r Nant, Denbigh finished first at key stage one level, with Philip Cuckson-Williams, of Ysgol Gwaenynog, Denbigh, and Arjuna Fiutek of Ysgol Borthyn, of Ruthin, second and third respectively. The pupils were all handed prizes including cash for themselves and their school. |
