AN unbeaten 85 by Dave Moulsden was the highlight of Abergele's eight-wicket win at Mochdre 2nds in Division Two of the Readers Romida North Wales League. Mochdre made 145-8 (Phil Dixon 33, Rob Marsh Evans 4-33) but Abergele answered with 149-2 for a 9-1 points win. Adam Foley's valiant 97 failed to save Halkyn from a five-wicket defeat at Bersham. Maelor Thomas added 47 as Halkyn set 206-6 but Bersham responded with 207-5 (Neil Thomas 55, Nick Jones 52) as Graham Settle snapped up 3-8 and Maelor Thomas 3-12. Bala's Rhodri Edwards hit 75 in their 13-run verdict against Carmel, posting 174 (Dave John 4-31, Dafydd Timothy 2-29). Carmel hit 161. Rhewl recorded a seven-wicket success over Conwy who set 150-8 (Nathan Brearley 59, Robbie Eccles 3-34) before the hosts hit 151-3 (Jon Eccles 56no). Richard Hughes' 69no helped Llangollen (139-5) to a five-wicket win over Llandudno 2nds who were dismissed for 138. Jordan Evans, 13-year-old son of Flintshire County manager Phil Evans, flayed 59 for Northop 2nds in their 55-run victory at Bodedern in Division Three. Northop notched 160-5 (Dave Jones 45no) and stopped the hosts on 105 (G Williams 5-9). Gareth Owen hammered 103no for Northop 3rds in their win against brother Bryn's Shotton 2nds in Division Five. Northop posted 203-8 (Rob Mallon 6-35). Shotton replied with 168-9. |
